If you are a golf enthusiast, you are in the best possible place. The "Golf Coast" is the main golf destination in Europe for vacationers and residential tourists, with more than 70 first-class courses whose streets and adjacent avenues are adorned with magnificent homes available for purchase, either for personal use or as an investment.

The golf community on the Costa del Sol also reflects the rich multinational diversity of the area, a true melting pot of golfers of all cultures, ages, genders and skill levels. The atmosphere at the golf clubs is socially enriching and very active, providing golfers with a second home.

In 1997, as a prelude to the Ryder Cup in Valderrama, new signs began to appear along the coast: "Costa del Sol - Costa del Golf". Although this slogan may have been created by the local tourist authorities, it wasn't just a clever marketing strategy. The Costa del Sol really deserves that description.

Today, the coast has more than 70 golf courses, the most in any similar area in Andalusia, Spain or even Europe. They are distributed along 120 kilometers of coastline. Marbella, with 15 courses, has the most of any municipality in Spain, followed by the neighboring municipalities of Mijas and Benahavis (the latter with the highest number of courses per inhabitant in Spain).
